Are behavior changes simply normal ageing?
Ageing is not itself a diagnosis, and new behavior changes deserve veterinary assessment. Senior-care guidelines emphasize looking for medical, sensory, pain-related and cognitive contributors instead of assuming decline is inevitable.
What can be followed over time?
Measurement context
Owner history, behavior pattern, physical and neurologic assessment, and targeted diagnostic work-up
Healthspan tracking is most useful as a trend: what changed, over what period, and whether the change altered daily function or the veterinary plan.
