Observe daily function
Record changes in rising, walking, stairs, jumping, litter-box access, grooming, play and willingness to interact. Short videos from the home can preserve context that is absent in a clinic snapshot.
Reduce avoidable barriers
Traction, accessible resting areas, appropriate ramps, litter-box design and placement of food and water can change how easily a senior pet uses its environment.
Reassess rather than set and forget
Pain and function can change. A plan should be monitored for benefit, adverse effects and caregiver feasibility.
